Rationalization of the Factors of Crop Losses in Different Two Regions of Dry Zone, Myanmar project funded by the Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Special Fund (2022) is currently being implemented by the Monitoring and Evaluation Division under the Department of Planning. As part of the project implementation, the M&E division survey team met with Paddy (Summer/Monson), Mungbean, Blackgram, Pigeon peas, Chickpeas, Lablab beans, Groundnut, Sesame, Sunflower and Cotton farmers in Yamethin, Pyawbwe, Meikthtila, Kyaukse Nyaung-Oo Myittha and Amarapura townships in July 2023. Furthermore, survey trips to Magway region will continue until October 2023. After being analyzed the collected data, a synthesis report will be published based on the consultation and validation meeting with stakeholders as part of the project implementation.  

In line with the guidance of union level Agriculture and Livestock Projects Supervision Committee, the Agriculture and Livestock Projects Monitoring and Evaluation Team led by the Director General of the Department of Planning evaluated the National Economic Development Fund Funded Mungbean and Summer Paddy Project Implemented in Nay Pyi Taw, Sagaing, Bago, Magway, Mandalay, Yangon and Ayeyarwaddy regions. The team reviewed the disbursement, contract, and collection of funds, reporting, and timing of project activities. The team prepared and submitted a final report with findings and suggestions to the Chairman of National Economic Promotion and Management Committee and the Project Supervision Committee. The team then transferred the report to the Agriculture Projects Implementation Working Committee attached with the Union Minister’s remarks and suggestions.
